When I was but a lowly communications undergrad, I was taught that a defining characteristic of tabloid journalism is that:

it is in the business of re-enforcing already held prejudices

Now take that sentence and apply it to the algorithms of Google.

And then ask yourself, one more time, why we ended up with Trump.

The Established Media, once all but omnipotent, dug a deep pit with which to bury the Established Politics. But in their arrogance and enthusiasm, they slipped and fell in too.

And all that’s left is us. Believing everything we read and nothing.

Bubble within bubbles within bubbles.
